Always Be Prepared!

If there is one thing that Amber and I learned on this trip,
it's that you should always be prepared!

Unfortunately for us, we both suffered from not being as prepared as we could have been, Amber a little more than myself.

For me, I just did not pack any clothes for warm weather.
Silly me, New York in March and I didn't pack and flip flops or pants.
So I had to go by some to survive.

Amber on the other hand had a few more struggles…

No tooth paste, no shampoo/conditioner, and no razor.
That's just the toiletries!

As we walked all day through the city, our feet started to kill us.
They hurt Amber so much that she decided to just buy new walking shoes.

Hopping into Payless she found some beautiful black grandpa shoes and
we were off to see the 9/11 memorial.

As we are walking some more, Amber starts to get cold
and of course she left her jacket in the hostel cause she is hard core like that.
Or so she thought.

That is when we ended up in H&M so that Amber could get herself a jacket
to survive the sudden change of weather.

So now we know.
Always be prepared!
And if you travel with Amber, just pack for the two of you :)

Noises and Boys

Amber: "When I'm full, I like to make noises. Ahhhhh"

Amber: "When I'm drunk, I just like to talk to boyssss…
even though I know they are not cute."

Some good things to know about Amber before you travel with her.
Don't take her out in public to eat unless you like loud noises at the table
that may make people stare…

Also, if she becomes a busty bitch after consuming large amounts of alcohol,
she likes to talk to boys.
ANY boys.
Like the boys who go to bars alone and then get kicked out...

That means after you hail a taxi and yell her name four times
while she is taking to a guy, she might ignore you at first.
But don't let that stop you!

Once you make a scene, you should be fine.
She may say you cock blocked her, but in reality you saved her.
She just won't admit it until the next morning :)

Cheers New York!

Amber and Her Men

So Amber and I are at the famous Serendipity right now!

Sitting in the exact spot that John and Kate sat at during the movie.

 The host loves us obviously.

While Amber is talking about how much she loves John Cusack,
we start talking about celebrity crushes.

On the count of 3 we decided to say a Hollywood hunk we love-
1.2.3!

Me: "Ryan Gosling"

Amber: "Edward Norton"

Ummmmm ok…
Trying to defend her man, she explains-

"Back in the day he could make hearts swoon and bodies shake."

I don't think we will have to worry about fighting over the same guy tonight at the bars :)

Some of Amber's other men on our trip-

I can agree that David is a hottie...and so can the people around us!

And then there is Prince...She is on her own with this one.

Row Row Row Your Boat

Boats and Amber just don't mix…

As we were walking through Central Park, we saw a cute lake with people in row boats.
How could we pass that up?!?
We rented a boat and without any instruction we were pushed from the dock.

After a few minutes, we got it down.
And when I say we and mean me…

I rowed us under the bridge and took us on a romantic boat ride.

Singing "I'm on a Boat" we spent an hour rowing around.
It was time to turn in the boat so Amber finally took over and rowed us ashore.

As Amber got out, the boat started to tip.
I could feel myself falling over but thankfully the boat man caught the boat in time.
Oh Amber…just trying to get rid of me already.

A Look Into Our Future...

Amber and I just got a glimpse into our futures with the help of a $10 psychic.

Reading our palms she told us the good, the bad and the ugly.

Ali:
  • I will not be happy with my career life at first but don't worry, it will change and I will be traveling!
  • I also have a 'J' in my live life soon. Fingers crossed! Anyone know a guy whos name starts with 'J'…

Amber:
  • Amber has an 'M' in her future love life so lets help her out with that.
  • She has a brown haired person that does not wish her well…oh no
  • But she has some good options career wise coming her way, she just needs to choose carefully.
  • Thankfully Friday is her lucky day so maybe Amber will find her love tonight ;)

New York treatin' us well so far
but if only we packed for summer and not winter…

Amber Thinking Her Thoughts

Amber: "Don't worry, I'm just thinking to myself…outloud…"

Oh Amber, what a single beer will do to your thought process.

First dinner right outside of The New York Times building.
Makes us feel like such New Yorkers/tourists.

On the bright side, 40 year olds hit on us and called me a child.
Great night ;)

Worn Out On Day One

That awkward moment when the person you are with
falls to the ground on her knees because her feet are hurting…

That's one way to solve the problem!

Only day one and she's struggling to keep up.
Four more to go! :)

Two's a Crowd

Amber: "I'm sorry, crowded spaces make me weird."

Can't wait to go to every other crowed NY attractions with Amber these next four days…

Finding New Yorkers

Amber: "I'm going to get myself a New Yorker in New York."

Me: "Good luck!"

Amber: "Oh, I meant the newspaper…"

We made it!
Finally in New York and looking like tourists already
after Amber stopped to grab every pamphlet available by the exit.

Let the adventure begin...

 New York!
Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made of!

There Is Nothing Wrong With a Moist Bagel…

Chicago Airport: After the worst turbulence ever, we needed comfort food.

"This is the best bagel ever. It's just so moist. I love my moist bagel!"

All I could do was sit, stare and turn the other way.

Half way there! NY here we come!

Time For Takeoff!

And the journey has begun!

Amber, of course, was stopped at security and
had to be rescanned along with having to be tested for any traces of a bomb…

Yeah, she is my travel buddy.
I feel like its going to be a long but entertaining trip :)

And The Adventure Begins!

In ONE day, Amber and I will embark on a five day journey
to the great city of New York!

We will be seeing plays, eat fattening food, experiencing the amazing night life,
and creating some beautiful memories.

Romantic isn't it?

But for those of you who know Amber,
you know that she is one hilarious person who says
some of the most interesting things...

Things that SHOULD and WILL be documented throughout our trip.

This blog will let you enjoy our spring break with us
(especially for those of you who are stuck in RoPo this next week, sorry Jeanne)
as well as enjoy some humor that Amber creates along the way.

Enjoy, have a great spring break and see you in a week!

Oh Amber...we will fit into NYC just fine!
